Hello, I currently live in Ontario, but was thinking of venturing into the West. I want to be a landscaper (interlocking stone, retaining walls, lawns and gardens). I looked for some jobs there but many are not announced yet. I was wondering if Edmonton had a good market for landscaping and how I might find some of the Company which are not necessarily Internet advertising for applicants. Someone help me find a full-time jobs for landscaping advice. Maybe I can send my CV on the net, though not really sure. Anyone can answer this will be a great help. It's only January but I want to be ready by spring if possible. Thus if anyone knows all the e-mail or anything that would be appreciated. Thanx!

Trust me with the expanding housing market in Alberta, as soon as it is you will have no trouble finding work, they are informed of begging, reliable employees, and they are too well paid, but be aware of the high cost of living in Edmonton and Calgary! Try looking in the classifieds of the newspaper of Edmonton I know that one is the Edmonton Sun, the other I'm not sure, but good luck!

Red Fabric mulch for tomatoes?

I saw advertised red fabric mulch for tomatoes. As the regular landscaping cloth black, it blocks sunlight to prevent weeds while allowing water and fertilizer. The red fabric mulch is claimed to increase the tomato harvest by 12% -20%. If you have a Using this experience, are you satisfied with the results? I put in 30 tomato plants this year, so if the claims are true, it would result in performance comparable to 4-6 extra tomato plants, certainly merit the additional cost over traditional fabric weedblock black.

I have tried on some plants as a test and did not notice any difference between them and the tomatoes mulched with straw. Then it was a pain to rear up and store the plastic, while organic mulches can be grown indoors and enrich the ground.
