Looking for a greenhouse or a nursery in Austin, TX area?
I'd like to find a greenhouse or nursery that I can take some PERINEAL a landscaping project that has received greater that nature. I have been to all the great "Garden Centers" in my area but I am looking for rare, exotic plants, abundant and cheap market that does not cost me a fortune. Any advice? Thank you.
I suggest talking with people at Zilker Botanical Garden in Austin. They are VERY knowleges. I have not been there for years, but I usually visit a lot when my grandmother lived in Austin, and I always loved it, especially the Japanese garden!

I have worked in food service for a very long time. my best friend worked in this restaurant for 5 years now, and she found me work there over a year earlier. among other things, she and I are InCharge the restaurant business. things in this job are becoming a bit ridiculous and my friend and I thought maybe we could start up our own catering service. We are both 22 years old. Together we have almost 20 Grand saved. What are the chances of this working for us? What would we do? Is this a good idea? Another idea i was starting my own business lawn care. Uncle of my boyfriend's going to put in landscaping in the spring and said he could help me start my own business. Is this a good idea? Any advice is appreciated!
Good for you, to save money to start the activity, instead of a massive debt to do so, and to work in industry for some time if you have a clue about it. I just wanted to give you a word of warning, however, on starting a business with a friend. In most cases, people do not end as friends. If you decide to do so, you must have everything in writing, which will be in charge, what tasks each, which gets what percentage of profits, how the company will run, etc. etc. Never go only on verbal agreements, a wing and a prayer, because you end up hating each other and your business goes down in flames. This could be a better idea for either of you to be the owner and the other to be a contractor or employee. Perhaps the one with the most money to invest should be the sole owner. Then another person can walk if they want without dissolving the company. If this does not seem fair, because the other has already put so much thought and effort into it, be sure to pay very well. With the idea of landscaping work to him for just a moment before you decide if you want to spend. Good luck!

Evelina's Garden
$3.99
On the south a high arbor-vitae hedge separated Evelina's garden from the road. The hedge was so high that when the school-children lagged by, and the secrets behind it fired them with more curiosity than those between their battered book covers, the tallest of them by stretching up on tiptoe could not peer over. And so they were driven to childish engineering feats, and would set to work and pick...

Ideas of Landscape discusses the current theory and practice of landscape archaeology and offers an alternative agenda for landscape archaeology that maps more closely onto the established empirical strengths of landscape study and has more contemporary relevance. The first historical assessment of a critical period in archaeology Takes as its focus the so-called English landscape tradition -- the ideological underpinnings of which come from English Romanticism, via the influence of the “father of landscape history”: W. G. Hoskins Argues that the strengths and weaknesses of landscape archaeology can be traced back to the underlying theoretical discontents of Romanticism Offers an alternative agenda for landscape archaeology that maps more closely onto the established empirical strengths of landscape study and has more contemporary relevance

What is landscape? How does it differ from 'land'? Does landscape always imply something to be pictured, a scene? When and why did we begin to cherish images of nature? What is 'nature'? Is it everything that isn't art, or artefact? This book explores many fascinating issues raised by the great range of ideas and images of the natural world in Western art since the Renaissance. Using a thematic structure many issues are examined, for instance: landscape as a cultural construct; the relationship between landscape as accessory or backdrop and landscape as the chief subject; landscape as constituted by various practices of framing; the sublime and ideas of indeterminacy; landscape art as picturesque or as exploration of living processes. These issues are raised and explored in connection with Western cultural movements, and within a full international and historical context. Many forms of landscape art are included: painting, gardening, panorama, poetry, photography, and art. The book is designed to both take stock of recent interdisciplinary debates and act as a stimulus to rethinking our assumptions about landscape.
