I live in the desert also. It is just the heat. Do not fertilize them again, you do not want to encourage new growth right now. The heat will kill the new leaves, which in turn can kill your trees. This time of year you don’t worry about growth, just survival.
You can paint the trunks of the trees white to help reflect the heat. You’ll have noticed other trees in the desert with white painted trunks. It helps keep them cool.
Water your trees in the evening to slow water loss from evaporation, and also the trees to suck up as much moisture as it can.
Try to make a deeper well around the tree to get more water to it. Add mulch to the well to protect the roots from the heat. shredded newspaper a couple of inches thick works well to hold in the moisture, and the white reflects some of the heat.
My plants are small enough to cover with a shade cloth. If you can, do so.
Do not trim off any dead leaves. They will continue to shade and protect the lower leaves from the sun.

The sun is frying your trees. Move them out of the sun, and water them as much as you can.

too much sun-with the age of the tree, look in the community for the same type tree with age and ask,
the different fertilizer may add to the problem-sacrifice one tree and just do one in the stronger sun -then wait two weeks to a month and take it from there.
and help from the above for the tree caretaker=”In marriage the bed is undefiled, but all others shall be judged.” Hebrews 13 the same chapter that tells us once we let Jesus into our heart “I will never leave thee nor forsake thee.”
on faith=our best – good grooming hair to toes, with nice clothing kept.
to think our best – read the bible and get directions-especially the book of proverbs-i read 3 verses of it a day for 3 days, and then 3 new ones-greatest book of wisdom in the greatest book of smartness-the bible
yet to get the connection we must apply the answer from within-This helped me as born a Jew to realize =when we admit we need something more we are ready to consider the one that gave it all for us, to help us.

So I prayed and had this need fulfilled in my life =”Jesus I am sorry for my sins, thanks for dying for me and promising to come into my heart to help me, please do and be my friend, amen.”
A new wonderful life began for me-and is offered to each person.
